Our Story

What began as a creative spark rooted in culture has grown into something much greater.

Inspired by the beauty and rich heritage of Hmong textiles, founder April Xiong began designing functional, sustainable tote bags that honored tradition while serving everyday life. Each piece was thoughtfully created with purpose, durability, and intention—reflecting the belief that meaningful design can tell a story.

As women connected with the heart behind the brand, DearSisa grew beyond a collection of products. Through local pop-up markets and community events, it became a place where conversations were shared, stories were celebrated, and meaningful connections were made.

From that vision, DearSisa Boutique was born.

Today, that same spirit continues in-store—bringing together fashion, storytelling, and community in an intentional retail space.

Now located in the heart of Old Sacramento, DearSisa is more than a boutique—it's a thoughtfully curated women's boutique offering a beautiful blend of new and resale fashion, designed to help women feel confident, beautiful, and inspired in every season of life.

Beyond fashion, DearSisa is a place for community and connection. Our mission is to create a warm, welcoming space where women can shop with intention, discover unique pieces, embrace sustainable fashion, and leave feeling encouraged and confident.

DearSisa means "Dear Sister." It reflects the heart behind everything we do—to uplift, encourage, and inspire women through every season of life, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and beautifully made.

Closet Refresh — A New Life for Your Wardrobe

  • We believe your wardrobe should evolve with you. Bring in up to 25 gently loved pieces and receive store credit or cash. We’ll help you edit your closet, restyle what you already love, and introduce you to thoughtfully curated finds that fit your life now. 
  • Through our Closet Refresh experience, clothing doesn’t simply get replaced—it’s given a second life. Pieces are re-loved, re-worn, and thoughtfully recirculated within our community.

This is fashion that feels intentional, personal, and lasting.

Creative Workshops & Mentorship

  • We host thoughtfully designed workshops that bring creativity into practice—inviting women to learn, make, and connect in a hands-on setting. Through mentorship and real-world experience in styling, merchandising, and entrepreneurship, we create opportunities for growth within a supportive environment.

Community Circles — Connection & Growth

  • Our gatherings are created with intention—offering space for reflection, conversation, and shared experience. Through guided sessions and wellness-centered practices, we foster connection, encouragement, and a sense of belonging.

Supporting Local Artists & Cultural Storytelling

  • We collaborate with local artists and creators to showcase work that reflects culture, craftsmanship, and personal story. Through pop-ups and in-store features, we create a platform that honors creativity while strengthening community.

Community Giveback — Clothing Donations

  • We welcome gently loved clothing donations as part of our commitment to community care and circular fashion. Pieces that do not align with our shop are thoughtfully redistributed to local women and organizations in need.
  • Through collaboration with our vendors and creative partners, we extend our impact through donation drives and community initiatives—giving each piece a meaningful second life.
